Park Byeongkyu (박병규) was born on 9 July 1981. He studied Go under Jang Suyoung? and became a professional in 1998.

He married Kim Eunsun (6p) in 2010. They have a son born c. 2013 and a daughter born c. 2017. Their son Park Seon-woo is a strong Go player and an aspiring professional.

Park runs the prestigious Jang Su-yeong Baduk Dojo. One of his students is the new young female professional Choi Seo-bi.
