This is an off-beat opening that is reminiscent of the three stars forming the belt in the constellation of Orion.

Spectra (a KGS player) explains that "itarneshi (KGS) opens at tengen often and SURA (KGS) named it that because there weren't yet any terms to describe it."

Alex Weldon: It's like a mini-Great Wall, so I assume that the strategy would be fairly similar. Looks overconcentrated to me, though.

Anonymous: Agreed, if you're not going to just continue it into a Great Wall then you may as well play at a just to make it a bit more flexible.
