Michiel Eijkhout

Michiel Eijkhout is a Dutch amateur 6 dan.

In May 2016 he published Close Encounters with the Middle Game, for the Kiseido publishing company as the 10th and last part in the Mastering the Basics Series (K80). The book consists of 32 in-depth analyses of 32 different games.

He learned the game of go as a 13 year old from his math teacher at secondary school in Nijmegen. Although he never became Dutch champion he did represent the Netherlands in 1994 and 2001 during the World Amateur Championship in Japan. With his wife Yvonne he participated twice in the World Championship pair-go
