Lin Chaohua

Lin Chaohua (林朝华, born 24 January, 1977) is a Zhongguo Qiyuan 7 dan professional. He learned Go aged 10 and turned professional in 1992. He was promoted to 4 dan in 1997, 5 dan in 1999, 6 dan in 2000 and 7 dan in 2002. Still 7 dan as of 2021. His name is sometimes (mistakenly) read as Lin Zhaohua.^[1]

[1] The Chinese character 朝 has two very common readings, cháo (dynasty, to face [in a direction]) and zhāo (morning). This player uses the cháo reading.

John F. Yes, almost certainly a mistake. It's a possible reading but telephone calls made at my behest to close friends of his have established that they call him Chaohua, and I believe the Zhongguo Qiyuan also have him registered as Chaohua.
