Solution

B1 is a typical keima side connection.

[Diagram]
Variation

B3 is an important move - a and b are miai to connect. B3 at a fails to W4 at B3.

Note (possibly a little beyond kyu level): depending on the whole board position, connecting may not always be the best option! See discussion at [ext] https://lifein19x19.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=16024, with post number 3 discussing this position on a mostly empty board, and post number 15 showing some real game positions with the same shape. (Looking again at those examples with KataGo, it doesn't agree in every detail with the old LZ analysis, but tells broadly the same story.)
