Ko ensemble

A ko ensemble consists of a ko with ko threats, if any. It may also include other kos.

The evaluation of kos depends upon the ko threat situation, which may be very complex. One approach to evaluation is to simplify by declaring a komaster. But if the situation is simple enough, the ko ensemble may be evaluated as a whole.

The term was coined by Bill Spight.
