Itame

Japanese term for bent or irregular grain of a wooden go board.

There are two kind of Itame cuts:

• kiura, (木裏, lower right of diagram) the better one, with older wood ring toward the top
• kiomote, (木表, upper right of diagram) less valuable, older wood ring toward the bottom
