Open Question: Far too often in my games I experience a "failure of imagination"; I can't come up with any interesting move to play. Usually this happens when my opponent and I play a relatively safe game and settle all our groups along the side and corners -- I don't know how to start branching out into the center or reducing properly.

18-Sept-04: While fleeing Hurricane Ivan, I passed by my old college in Ruston, Louisiana. There's actually a very nice Go set for anyone to use in the local coffee shop (The Frothy Monkey), but apparently no one there plays!

08-Oct-04: Arg... I need to stop trying to play games on KGS while I'm at work. Even if it's a Free match, I end up getting really into the game, but not being able to give it proper attention because I run out of time to play.

In other news, I've lost my stable rating of 16k and am back to a ?, albeit a 14k?, due to the ratings tweak. Gah.
