According to a legend, Guang Yi? (976-997 AD), the second Emperor of Song Dynasty in China, was so busy with Go that he hardly had any time left for administration. He had a servant who supplied him with Go game records to please him. Because of this, the court officials suggested an impeachment. They urged the Emperor to give up Go, but he found an excuse: "I am using Go as an excuse to resist the temptations of my concubines." After hearing this, the officials weighed the pros and cons between wild sex and Go, and decided that Go was indeed better than wild sex and thus put the issue to rest.
