fractic: You can do it with less stones. Here is the simplest:

B3 at B1 and W4 at W2

Even smaller without suicide:

B3 at B1 and W4 at W2

fractic: Or if we allow suicide this is the clear winner:

W2 at B1, B3 at B1, W4 at W2=B1

tapir: Why not?

B3 at B1, W4 at W2.

The corner position with 5 stones in place was what I had in mind when I created the problem. I was secretly hoping for a silly board shape solution. Wow :-)

tapir: Imo, Bill's construction is the only one where the moves actually make sense, as in, not only you make the required moves, but they are best play and the solution to a tiny endgame problem.
