Beginner Exercise 69 / Solution

Sub-page of BeginnerExercise69

After B1, since White a is not possible (Black will capture at b), Black lives as a twisted four. Now c and d are miai.

Failure 1

Black dies by bulky five.

Failure 2

Playing at B1 looks good, but W2 will capture the marked stone. However, W2 has to be careful not to play at a or b.

Failure 3

W2 is the vital point here.

Failure 4

B1 is probably the weakest move among the failure diagrams.

Failure 5

If white b, then black c dies. So after white b, a and d become miai for black.

Solution for 'a'
Solution for 'd'
