Hi all, I am 11k on IGS, and consistently lose at least one in three games there. However I just started playing on KGS and have lost only one game of the ten I've played since getting my "?" rank. I have gotten to 5kyu already. I am about to play in my first AGA event and the tournament director has asked me to estimate my AGA rank. I said 7.5k but now I am worried that KGS is closer to AGA ranks and I might be stronger than I claimed to be. I don't want to be accused of scamming or Go sharking at the tournament, does anyone have a better sense of what the rank relationships are? I think part of why I am doing so well on KGS is also the 10 min +byoyomi situation there as well, which doesn't seem like enough time. In my last game my opponent made a critical mistake in the end game because the our clocks were run out. So perhaps the initial rank establishing games have gotten me to an inflated rank? I'd appreciate any thoughts or input.
