In your diagram that explains the weakness of the knights move to cutting, the attack you make in the upper right corner of the board is defensible without leaving a cut (you attack the "feet" of the move). In that case if you attacked the center of the knight's move you would have a guranteed cut AND you wouldn't be caught in a ladder.
I suppose that, even though such a "vulgar" cut is strictly possible, White then is left in such an awkward shape that it`s usually not recommended. Anyway, perhaps we`ll hear more on this from minue.
