If you use CyberOro, you know that they have several servers. As of this post, they have 1 Japanese, 3 Korean, 2 Chinese, 1 Taiwan, 1 Thailand, and something called "voice" which I haven't tried. I've noticed that at the same rank I tend to get my butt kicked on the Korean and Chinese servers, but on the Japanese one I win games. If you look at the flags, there really is a nationality difference between the visitors to the servers, although there is some overlap. Has anyone else noticed this?
ilan: I mostly play on Cyberoro, but mostly on Korea 1, and a little bit on Japan. I have noticed a difference in style between the Korean, Japanese, and Chinese players, but it doesn't seem too significant. In particular, as you go up in rank, the difference in style decreases.
How did you get these different servers to appear?
After installing and running, it opens a very blank login window only, where is an empty box where the servers could appear maybe and the text "Total #: 0 players" ...
Tartuffe: It's interesting that you thought the Korean server was tougher. back when I was struggling to get 1d it seemed like the toughest 1k-1d players were from Japan. Chinese players seemed a little easier to play, then the Koreans. I'm a pretty aggressive player, though, so the cut-cut-cut style of the Korean server suited me. As I moved up to 2d I noticed that the Japanese players often seemed to get in trouble from invading too deeply. I didn't really notice anything distinctive about the Chinese server. This is based only on my first ~50 games, but it's fun to apply character to the servers.
