89.204.138.58: Go board, use table protector or not? (2016-09-30 12:11) [#10802]

Hi, I just got gifted a new go board and it came with (not yet attached) and wondered whether to use them or not. Besides protecting from scratches would they affect the sound (the clack of putting a stone on the board) in a good or bad manner?
