A remark: the old methods of inlining /and aligning pictures are still working:

(but aligning left happens to every picture without further code)
I think we should consider this old method deprecated. The template method is easier, does not require knowledge op the "?alignright/left.jpg" trick, and makes things like alt attributes and captions much easier. Mentioning the old method serves no purpose, IMO, and may just confuse.
Note, BTW, that images are not aligned left automatically. Without an alignment, they are simply inserted into the text flow.
