How does this site's licensing relate to GFDL (used by sites such as Wikipedia.org and Wikia.com)? I mean, can we copy from here to those and/or from those to here?
Strictly speaking: no, you can't copy.
The GFDL is incompatible with the Open Content License, as the OC license restricts charging money for the content. The GFDL doesn't.
When SL started neither GFDL nor CC licenses existed. The Open Content License was the only sensible choice then. That it didn't prevail is unfortunate. But we could only change the license if all authors in SL's history gave their ok. That is an impossible task. We are stuck with the Open Content License.
Instead of copying I suggest you use links. It's a weird concept, I know :o)
Could we conceivably dual license content added from this day forward? I realize that in practice, it would be hard to verify that any given content was GFDL, but new pages or pages that had a full rewrite would count. --Hyperpapeterie
