Through The Years Long Correspondence

    Keywords: Tournament

Through the Years: Long Correspondence (TTY:LC) is a large OGS correspondence tournament with long time settings, created by S Alexander.

It has been running since June 2020. It is still in the first round, which will probably finish some time around 2025. There are to be 12 rounds.

The time control is 4 weeks + 1 week per move up to 4 weeks max (with pauses on weekends).

The event's description states that "the purpose of the tournament is playing long correspondence games that would allow us to bond with each other over the span of many years".

Players (initially 1,632) were organised into all-play-all groups of ten.

The IDs of TTY:LC games are in the 25,000,000 series. In comparison, current OGS game IDs are in the 40-50,000,000 range.

Coreon is one of the slowest players. Six of his nine games are still active. His slowest, against fellow low dan Xaloc, has had less than a hundred moves played.

A cursory investigation suggests that the slowest game of the tournament is currently [ext] HongAnhKhoa vs skamman, at only 86 moves as of 4 May 2022.

[ext] Status as of 2 May 2022, compiled by Lys:

145 games left, 185 players involved, 48 groups
