Perth Go Players
There is no formal Go club in Perth or WA, and only a handful of active players.
See below for the status as of early 2016.
Meet at Tzu Chi every Saturday afternoon
There is a weekly gathering kindly hosted at Tzu Chi, for which we are indebted to Eng-Kok ONG <ek-ong@hotmail.com>. Anyone, including beginners and non-players, is welcome to come along without notice. There are usually 2-6 players and sufficient sets. Every Saturday from 1-4pm at:
Tzu Chi, 247 Fitzgerald Street, West Perth (corner Lawley Street, next to the Italian Club, plenty parking behind).
For your first visit, consider checking in advance with Eng or Clive.
Beginners: we will be happy to spend time explaining the rules and helping you get started. There is no formal Go teaching.
Experienced players: local players are not strong (max ~1 dan) but strong players occasionally visit Perth. There are no plans for tournaments.
Communications
https://www.facebook.com/PerthGoClub/ is a good place to look out for current news. For example, sometimes the Tzu Chi venue is not available, in which case there will be no go session.
Perth Go email list is perth@go.org.au maintained by horatio@go.org.au.
For other questions, such as online Go, buying books and equipment etc. a good place to start is the AGA website http://www.australiango.asn.au/
Hope this helps and happy to discuss,
