Mehmet Emin Barsbey

I am Mehmet Emin Barsbey, 2 dan amateur Go player living in Istanbul, Turkey. I am the founder of Istanbul Go School which aims to teach and promote Go to kids and adults, publish articles, provide standard Go equipment, organize tournaments, and in short, popularize Go in Turkey. As a member of Turkish Go Players' Association, after passing national qualification tournaments, I represented Turkey in 2nd and 3rd Korea Prime Minister Cup International. I also attended 2006 American Go Congress in North Carolina, 2007 European Go Congress in Austria and 2008 European Go Congress in Sweden. As an EGF certificated referee, I worked actively in the organization of last six International Istanbul Go Tournaments and also in some local tournaments. Go is my full time job and publishing, rules, organizations, teaching, searching cultural aspects of Go are my interests among others. I would like to exchange information and experience about these fields with other Go players. I am also a co-founder of İstanbul Go Players Association.

My writings and interviews about mind games and Go have been published on many national newspapers, tv channels and websites. Although they are all in Turkish you can see some of them at this page I also produced and presented a radio program about mind and chance games, entitled “The Game inside The Game”.
