Many terms exist to describe precisely how favorable a particular outcome is to one player or the other. Learning these terms may help you in evaluating positions.

Satisfaction

Satisfaction-related terms involve the nuance of the goodness of the outcome relative to what could be expected. A player can be "satisfied" even if his outcome is inferior, if that outcome is the best he could reasonably hope for.

  1. satisfied
  2. dissatisfied
  3. not unsatisfied

Evenness

  1. even (J. 互角, "gokaku")
  2. soba -- par for the course
  3. playable
  4. another game (as in "that would be another game")

Better/Worse

  1. omoshiroi (better)
  2. tsumaranai (worse)

Disaster

  1. collapse
