Go for Palm OS

    Keywords: Software

Go for PalmOS is a go-recording / sgf-editing program originally created by Adorjan Kiss in 2002.

After I (Falkor) sent him an email requesting the source, he decided to release the source in Feb 2007.

The homepage for this program is no longer updated([ext] http://www.lirmm.fr/~kiss/Go/index.html), and I will not be making one for this extended version until such a program exist. I will try to start development near May/June of 2007, when my exams have finished.

My main objectives will be:

  • A filebrowser to load sgf-files directly from memorycard, with option to select which database (pdb) file to look for sgf-files in (i.e. that you can make a pdb-file with sgf-files only). This will require PalmOS v. 4.0 or above, or a handheld with VFS support.
  • Add better support for comments.
  • Add a better way to navigate variations.
  • Try to overcome the 64k memory limit (especially for older palms such as M125), so that one can load files such as Kogo's Joseki Dictionary onto it.
