I'm a beginner, but just now, I don't know what I was earlier. I knew of the existance of the game less than a year ago, watching Hikaru no Go, and, like many, I loved it. I learned the rules, then I played something that later I realized was not Go, and I found some book to learn more. Then I discovered Goproblems, I was half a year away because of school, and finally I came back, delighted to find problems in SL, because I prefer this way of presenting them. Unfortunately, I don't like very much the idea of playing on Internet before seeing a real goban and talking to a go player in flesh and blood - even if s/he's a 30 kyu -, so I'm not playing yet.
