British Go Week

    Keywords: Books & Publications

British Go Week was a Go promotion initiative undertaken by the BGA in 1981 and '84. Information can be found on the two respective weeks in British Go Journal editions [ext] #51 and [ext] #61.

In 2004, probably to capitalise on the Hikaru no Go boom, the UK Go Challenge was launched with a special focus on young players and schools. Up to and including 2014, it was accompanied by Tony Atkins' KisekiGo? [ext] newsletters. The Challenge has been, at least partially, organised by the Go event management group ZenMachine.

As of 2021, the UK Go Challenge is still running and has a dedicated [ext] website and [ext] BGA site page. It has been held every year apart from 2016.
