Baduk House
The Baduk Residency Program (also known as Baduk House) is a program for passionate go players from around the world to live and study together. It was started in 2022 at the home of Devin Fraze, creator of the Go website Baduk.Club, in Columbus Ohio. Residents receive free room and board and are expected to volunteer in the community.
The first session began in March 2022 and ran for 2 months. Six players participated including strong players such as Soren Jaffe (6d AGA), Jeremiah Donely (5d AGA), and loved streaming personality GoGoGooplet.
The second session began in June 2022 and ran for 2 months. Seven players from the US, Canada, and Europe joined as residents including strong players Rémi Campagnie (6d CGA) and Eric Yoder (5-6d AGA) who later participated in the NAGF Pro Qualifier together. This session ended with the 2022 US Go Congress as a capstone.
Notable volunteer activities of the group include: - streaming the 2022 NAGF pro qualification tournament. - volunteering in various roles for the 2022 US Go congress. - running the regional Midwest Open tournament. - streaming occasional lessons for the community.
The program will begin its third session in late March of 2023 and run for 1 month.
