Albert (Ab) Schilp (1919-1999) was a pioneer of Dutch and European go. He founded the Amsterdam Go Club and the Dutch Go Association and served as president and as secretary of the EGF for several years in the 1960's and 1970's. He won the first Dutch Championship in 1960 and won the main tournament of the first European Go Congress, in Cuxhaven, Germany, in 1957 (this was a handicap tournament, and is not considered a European Championship). He was awarded the Okura Prize from Nihon Ki-in in 1977.
