Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony has varied from congress to congress. It has been:

• A series of speeches, translated into Japanese, English and the local language, by the organiser, the sponsors, the town council, professional players etc.
• An entertainment.
• A meal - sit down or buffet.
• Drinks.
• For everyone.
• By invitation only to a select few.

There appears to be no concensus.
