Provide information on what means of transport exist in the vicinity of the congress and how to use them.
- What can you get to on foot?
- Can you get to the town centre / the local beauty spot this way?
- Is it safe? Are there any areas to be avoided, perhaps at night?
- Buses, trams and trains
- Where is the stop / station near the site?
- Where to get off in the local town.
- Timetables or frequency of service.
- First service of day, last service of day.
- Costs
- Where and how to buy tickets.
- Shops? Machines by stops? On vehicle?
- Exact fare required? Driver has change?
- Tickets are for 1 journey stop A to stop B? For time from start of journey (eg 1 hour)? Within a zone?
- Do tickets need validating on the vehicle? How?
- Can weekly season tickets be bought (or provided by the congress)?
- Taxis
- Where from near site / in town?
- Value for money?
- Tips required / not required?
- Haggle or fixed price?
Make sure that you have enough copies of the local transportation maps/information leaflets to provide at least one copy in the Registration Goody Bag, plus a considerable number of addition ones to give out at the Information Desk.
You'll probably also need a good number of the equivalent for the country/region as a whole. It's probably sufficient to hold these at the Information Desk.
