Registrant Details Checking

At Registration, you need to ensure all relevant details are collected.

The details that are required obviously must include enough information to identify the person, to determine the payments required and to permit the tournament draws to be done. There may be a need for national legal details as well.

The fewer details you have to check, the less there is to get wrong and the shorter time registration will take. Every wrong item will be queried and cause problems and delays.

Minimal details:

Name
- Surname and initial is probably enough.
- Full personal name may be more friendly
- Titles (Mr, Mrs, Dr etc) are unlikely to be useful
- Male / Female may be useful
Nationality
- This is required to minimise own country go games in the draw.
- Decide any abbreviations and stick to that choice (one obvious option is those used by the EGF ratings system).
  - Do not confuse United Kingdom with Ukraine.
  - Do not use more than one of United Kingdom, England, Great Britain.
  - If you use England, be prepared to accept Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland as well. If you use Great Britain, be prepared to also accept Northern Ireland.
  - Do not confuse Slovenia and Slovakia.
Go grade (or non-player)
- Make this easy to chnage. Some players will have registered a few months previously and have improved since then.
Age
- Not required as such, but you may want to note under 18, under 13 or even over 70!
Tournaments requiring payment being entered
- Main (week 1, week 2, fortnight) and Weekend is the usual option.
- When the player is 4 dan or stronger:
  - Whether he wants to play in the super group and promises to play all the rounds. (If not treat him as any other player.)

- Dates
- Type
- Sharing with ...
- Cost
