Personal life
On his 30th birthday, 22 Nov 2024, he married leading female pro Fujisawa Rina 7p (aged 26). On the day his wife announced the news on Twitter, 1 Dec 2024, he had earlier won the 19th Hiroshima Arumi Cup by beating the previous winner, Hirose Yuichi 7p. Still earlier that day, he beat his wife in the semifinals. Their first public announcement was at the awards ceremony. She had previously won the 15th Hiroshima Arumi Cup in 2020. They had been dating for seven years, although there was no hint on their Twitter pages. His new father-in-law Fujisawa Kazunari (60, 8p) laughed and said:
My own daughter lost to my son-in-law, and my disciple Hirose also lost to my son-in-law.
Unlikely many Go professionals, he graduated as another type of professional: from the Department of Architecture at Tokyo University of Science.
