Nanyang Cup
The Nanyang Cup World Go Masters Tournament is a new world Go championship founded in 2024, and the first tournament continued into 2025. Nányáng (南洋) literally means “South foreign”.
The 1st one was jointly hosted by the Chinese Weiqi Association and the Singapore Go Association. All rounds by the final were held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China, in 2024. The final and third and fourth place matches were held in Singapore in February 2025. The dates in the table refer to the year the final was held.
The first winner was Korea’s Shin Jinseo, and the next three places were all Chinese: Wang Xinghao, Li Qincheng, and Dang Yifei. The three female players, top players of Korea, China, and Japan, were Choi Jung, Zhou Hongyu, and Ueno Asami. They were all eliminated in R1.

Chinese rules, 3ľ-point komi. 32-player knockout, finals best-of-three, losing semifinalist play one decision game for 3rd place.

Time control
The Nanyang Cup was the first international Go championship to use the Fischer time control?. In particular, it was 2 hours per side, plus 15 seconds for each move.
