(村島誼紀)(1905-1983) Nihon Ki-in professional 9 dan Emeritus. He was a pupil of Kubomatsu Katsukiyo at first, then moved to Tokyo and became a pupil of Honinbo Shusai. His former name (to 1932) was Murashima Yoshikatsu (義勝). He invented the handicap system used in the Oteai where one stone corresponds to three-dan difference. Later in 1945, he began working as the Editor in Chief of the restarted magazine Kido. Authored the "Ko Dictionary" published by Seibundo Shinkosha.
