The League stage of the Kisei tournament consists of two 6-player leagues (leagues A and B). The winners of the two leagues have a play-off to determine the challenger to the Kisei titleholder. In each league, the two last-placed players are demoted from the league to the final preliminary stage. League ties are resolved by position in the previous years' league.
What happens in the case of ties between new league members is still unclear to the author.
