I have been living in Japan for the past 20 years. Until about 8 years ago, I had studied to the point where I could play as a 1-dan at most Japanese go clubs, but then got too busy with work. I have recently picked the game up again, and am finding that 1-dan is again an objective to be worked toward. (sigh...)

My Shusaku number is probably 6, though I'm not sure what significance this has today. How about this instead: my Ishikura and Redmond numbers are both 1.

Come to think about it, Michael Redmond and Ishikura Noboru's JadedMage numbers are 1 too. What a coincidence! (no, not arrogance--just laughing at the ridiculousness of such numbers...)
