in seki

    Keywords: Rules, Go term

According to the 1989 Japanese rules, at the end of the game stones that "have dame" are said to be in seki. It is possible for stones that have two eyes and would otherwise be considered to be independently alive to be in seki. When stones are in seki is not always clear, because stones that are not adjacent to dame may nonetheless be in seki, so what it means to have dame is not obvious.
