honorary titles

A honorary title is usually attributed to a player who has won one of the Big Titles so that it is maintained even after losing the tournament. These are often received by winning five editions.

Honorary title holders

• Iyama Yuta has 4 (Kisei, Meijin, Honinbo, Gosei).
• Xie Yimin has 3 (Women's Honinbo, Women's Meijin, Women's Kisei)
