GoneProblem2/Solutions

Sub-page of GoneProblem2

There are two solutions. I overlooked one of them.

The first one, the one I overlooked, has fewer variations. After B1, W2 - B7 is best play.

Solution 1

B1 prevents a White point in the corner. W2 holds the corner to zero. B3 threatens to play at a, but W4 takes away that move and prevents the eye. B5 takes another corner.

After B7 each player has two more moves left. White to play loses.

Solution 2

B1 carries a large threat, which W2 counters, as above. B3 is the winning move, after which there are a number of variations. Through B7 the same position is reached as in Solution 1.
