I don't see a successful reply to this for White. All of Black's responses to a White move rely on the fact that the marked white stones can be separated from the rest of the White group.

Instinct fails  

The most natural move seems to be here. After , however, and are miai. White's getting cut one way or another.

After , White can't play at A due to shortage of liberties.
