British Go Promotion

British Go Week was a Go promotion initiative undertaken by the BGA in 1981 and '84. Information can be found on the two respective weeks in British Go Journal editions [ext] #51 and [ext] #61.

In 2005, probably to capitalise on the Hikaru no Go boom, the UK Go Challenge was launched with a special focus on young players and schools. It ran until at least 2014, as indicated by Tony Atkins' KisekiGo? [ext] newsletters. The Challenge was, at least partially, organised by the Go event management group ZenMachine.
