White peep at 1 leaves Black with 2 liberties
Black cannot escape to the outside with 1 (3 at 4; 4 at 3)
Black's only hope looks to be 1 here
White 2 creates a shortage of liberties, and black can capture
Black wins the race if White doesn't defend
But drawing out with 2 gives White more liberties. Black connecting at 3 gives both groups 4 liberties, and White has sente.
So for me that makes Black dead, White alive.
Note 3 in this diagram causes Black to lose another liberty - White still has 4, Black only 3 - and White remains in sente.
But wait - how should White respond to Black 1? 2 here invites the throw-in.
2 here leaves too few liberties - Black has 3, White also 3, but with Black sente.
Descending to 2 here doesn't buy White enough liberties
So Black can kill White with 1. Unsettled then...
