Learned to play 1983-1987 as student at Aberdeen University, reaching around 10-11 kyu. I was founding secretary of the AU Go club (which won a prize for being the fastest growing club in the country that year!), but after I stood down in 1985 the club slowly declined.

Got back into playing reasonably regularly in 2004.

2016: The Aberdeen club has folded as people (including myself) moved away. Haven't had a game in several years now, due to being abroad for the last several Skye and Edinburgh tournaments.
