33 Point Invasion Splittable Jump

Analysis done with Zbaduk - Dieter

Angle play

The splittable jump of W2 in response to the 3-3 invasion is unusual. In absence of supporting stones, the weakness it leaves is a burden for White. With supporting stones it can be used to deny Black two eyes in the corner.

Natural

It's natural for Black, but not necessarily best, to push and turn.

Calm

Omitting the push is probably a little better. White must now deal with the weakness.

Fight

Black can also push and cut, if the ladder doesn't work. White will play W8 and Black then draws out at B9. The prospect of this fight depends on the surrounding. The simple, calm variation is best in most cases.
