Don't push if you're not going to cut

   

This page is in need of attention.
Reason: While there's truth in the current statement it is not a well known proverb in classical literature. In any case we need diagrams to support the advice and crosslinks to other pages in the Wiki. Other librarians can do this but authors are requested to provide just a little more when starting a technical page.


Unless there's some other local reason, pushing through your opponents stones only makes sense if you're going to take advantage of the cutting point you created.
