This list is a lot harder to use because of the way it's organized. There ought to be two lists, one sorted by English terms and one the way it already is now.

It is organized this way because there are generally more people interested in translating Chinese terms into English, for example to be able to read Chinese go books or Chinese game commentaries. So it's organized like a Chinese to English dictionary, sorted by the Chinese term.

If you want a version that is the other way around, you'll have to make it yourself I'm afraid.

Bob McGuigan: On looking at the main page my first thought was that it would not be very useful for someone who doesn't read Chinese and is trying to look up particular words because it would often be necessary to scan almost the whole list to find the meaning of something. Then, at the bottom of the page in footnote 1 I found the answer. Someone who encounters a Chinese term, for example 自然流 just has to copy it to the note pad, go to the fantizi web site, paste it into the window, and get the pinyin version which can be used with the list.

Just searching for the chinese term with the browser search would do as well. (+ Less complications.)

With the browser search you can easily go to any english go term you are interested in as well.

I agree that a list indexed by English terms could be useful. I just made this page! See Chinese Go Terms / English to Chinese.
