On page 109, the variation figure says, White dies. Yet, clearly, Black is in atari at that point, and even though it is Black's turn, B can do nothing to survive. Kindly correct me if I'm wrong.

Unless I'm mistaken, Black is in atari and can be taken at 'a'; atariing White at c does no good, because White captures at a. So suppose Black escapes to 'a', then White ataris at b. Atariing at c at that point is still no good, because then White takes at d.
Perhaps Shotwell meant, Black dies, or, White kills? Although, the fact is, this takes place after W108, and not B109, so it's difficult to say.
I would add this to the Errata page, but I want to be certain of it first.
