Quasi Bad Shapes
Having seen the discussion on the B2Bomber page and the " mere 9d vs 7d game on kgs," the idea that there were shapes that were inefficiently thick, but powerful and effective occurred to me. So I was wondering if there were more such shapes that weren't just misshapen blobs occurring by chance.
Would someone be so kind as to offer more such shapes, or an analysis of the powercube shape? It does occur to me that there isn't much to the cube, but seeing as how the B2Bomber has a lengthy analysis, the differences between the two should be better illustrated.
Shapes like these usually occur from kikashi on flawed shapes like the trumpet connection, or a box. Knowing how to best utilize these inefficient shapes would help in a bad game... and if it turns out that these shapes are uncommon or non-existant, then there would still be benefit from a discussion of the usefulness of thickness in open situations.
