Another rules set of go (this one is not the french go rules set):

1) Go is played by two players.

2) The equipmemt comprises a board on which a grid is drawn, and two sets of pieces, called stones. All stones of a set have the same colour, and a different colour from the other set.

3) Each player chooses a colour. Then, taking turns, players place a stone of their own colour on an empty intersection of the grid, or else they pass.

4) Two intersections are said to be adjacent when they are on the same line and there is no other intersection between them. The liberties of a stone are the empty intersections adjacent to the intersection where the stone is. Stones of same colour placed on adjacent intersections put their liberties in common.

If a player fills in the last liberty of opponent's stones, he removes them from the grid, else if some of his own stones have no liberty, his opponent removes them from the grid.

5) When placing a stone, a player must not restore the grid to a state identical to any state he had created before.

6) The game stops when the two players pass one after the other. The points are then counted up.

An empty intersection is said surrounded if all his adjacent intersections are occupied by stones of the same colour.

Each intersection which can be occupied or can be surrounded by a player's stones earns him a point.

7) In case of dispute about intersections a player can occupy or surround, the game restarts until two new passes. Then only each intersection occupied or surrounded by a player's stones earns him a point.

8) As it is an advantage for a player to start, the other player receives some points by way of compensation.

9) The winner is the one with more points.
