Comments

This composite review currently consists of comments by Kim Myungwan (who was asked by JoazBanbeck), Guo Juan (who was asked by tapir), our resident unkx80 one of the captains of the white team. kb is writing a complete and detailed review under Kb/WuRenGo2Review.

Moves 11 to 20
  • Guo Juan (asked by tapir): B11 - Black does not have a move to play here. Losing territory. (Proposal: O4)
  • Kim Myungwan: B15 - Way too small, should be at R7.
  • Guo Juan: B17 - Too slow.
  • Kim Myungwan: B17 - D6 is better. Make use of move #9.
  • Guo Juan: W18 Proposal
  • Kim Myungwan: B19 - The top and right sides are miai. R8 looks good, as does K17. But either one allows white to play a 6-3 approach to the corner. So treat the sides as miai, and take O17 now.

Moves 31 to 40
  • Guo Juan: W32: Black won't have enough territory.
  • Guo Juan: B33: Too far especially when white is at d15 high position.
  • Kim Myungwan: B33: P12 is best, prevents white O11.
  • Guo Juan: W34: Thank you move! (Proposal: H17 or C12)
  • Kim Myungwan: W36: O17 is best, threatens Q18.

Moves 61 to 70
  • Guo Juan: B61 (Proposal: M5 - I will go for the kill.)
  • unkx80: B63 feels unusually strong. I missed this move completely.
  • unkx80: The W64 and B65 exchange is particularly loss making for white. White should have played W64 directly at W66. If black played outside, then white can enter at N3. If black played at B65, then white can choose to play at L9 or N9, much more efficient than at W64.
  • Guo Juan: B67 - Very small. (Proposal: N9)
  • unkx80: B67 is unusually large, but at what price? For those who did not read it out, the real value of B67 is that it prevents white from entering at N3. With N3, white can either connect out or live unconditionally inside.

  • Kim Myungwan: W72: Hane at 73, then extend.
  • unkx80: W72 is better played at B73. I was too worried about the eyespace of the white group.
