Wheel of Time - Stones

    Keywords: Variant

In the popular fantasy series, Wheel of Time, heroes and common people all play a game called "Stones". It becomes obvious that this game is baduk; players use black and white stones, the stones are placed on intersections on the board, and the players aim to surround each other [Book 3; ch. 45 and ch. 49].

Reviews

Jared: The Wheel of Time series is huge, on it's tenth book at least. It is written by Robert Jordan. The series starts out well, but fizzles out by the fifth or six book.

TimK: Just my two cents - I don't think the series fizzles out at all, and I'm eagerly awaiting book 11's release in October. The Wheel of Time is my favorite series of all time.

Anon: The series is amazing - book 7 is the slowest, but it is still a good book - only poor compared to the rest of the series. It speeds up again a lot after that one.

MarcGaudet : the 12 book is out

zpmorgan: Jordan died in 2007. The last book was written by Brandon Sanderson... Something does fizzle. I found book 3 slow, and couldn't even finish reading the 4th book.

Fantus : How did you find book 3 slow?

Yamesh : Reading the books, found out that black plays first.
