I am a KGS 3 kyu player from Thailand. I have been playing Go since around 2002, mostly online.

My playing style was to build up influence and attack the opponent stones. Often I got too greedy for a quick win and was countered severely due to thinness in my positions.

Recently, I changed to use more balanced approach between influence and territory. This seems to fit my pace better.

Some of my favorite go books:

  • Attack and Defence - I have read this book several times. Each time I learn something new, whether the correct attitude to attack, the formation to invade, playing on the junction between two frameworks.
  • Lessons In The Fundamentals Of Go - This book is a good read even when your strength is below 10 kyu. Contrary to the book title, it does not provide a lot theoretical explanation of Go theory, such as in opening or middle game fighting. However, there are several tactical knowledge that will serve you well in the long term.
